A Message from Andreas

I am hoping this message finds you in good health and spirit as we all go through the most testing of times.

It is important that we stay together and get through these dark moments like we as strong humanitarians and faithful Rotarians can and will.

I want to share with you that I have been in constant touch over these past several days with the President of the Rotary Club of Bergamo/Italy, Renato Vico.

Bergamo, located in the region of Lombardy, not far from Milan, is the epicenter of Covid-19 not only in Italy but now also worldwide. More people die there every day than anywhere else proportionally. The club is resident at the Hospital and many of its members including the Head of the Hospital are doctors there. I encourage you strongly to watch the video below:

I will ask our Board of Directors today to enter in twin-ship with the Rotary Club of Bergamo in Rotary solidarity and humanitarian spirit.

In communication with Mr. Vico, we are working on having the Head of the Bergamo Hospital join our Zoom meeting this Thursday, March 26 at 12 noon. If so we will give the Doctor priority and begin the meeting with his presentation and Q & A prior to Mr. Gordon Chang. We will create synergies and helpful discussions on this pandemic and how we as Rotarians can help locally and internationally.

Gordon Chang - China and Covid-19
The meeting will begin at 12 noon and will last approximately 40-45 minutes. Our presenter will be Gordon Chang – China expert seen often on TV and known for his books on China, its economy and all else China. His topic will be "China and Covid-19."

This should be an interesting meeting. Gordon will present for about 15 minutes and then we will go into an efficient Q & A. As we have no limitations as to additional participants please feel free to pass on to interested family members and friends and spread the good work of Rotary and its causes.

A small change from last week will be that attendees should mute their audio during Gordon Chang's presentation.
