Our Club/Foundation donated the First Prize for the Essay Contest in Istanbul
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
I am honored to share with you the remarkable experience of our recent journey to Istanbul, where we gathered to dedicate the Otto and Fran Walter Peace Center. This momentous occasion stands as a testament to the power of Rotary service and the extraordinary generosity of one of our own, Otto Walter. A devoted member of our club for over twenty years, Otto’s vision and commitment to peace will now live on, fostering the training of peace fellows from across the world for generations to come.
Standing at the dedication ceremony, I was filled with immense pride—not just in Otto’s legacy, but in our club’s long-standing tradition of service and action. The impact of his contribution will ripple far beyond what we can imagine, equipping future leaders with the tools to promote peace and resolve conflict in communities worldwide.
During our visit, I also had the distinct honor of awarding the first-place prize on behalf of our club for the essay writing contest held by the host Rotary Club of Istanbul. This event was a powerful reminder of the role Rotary plays in inspiring thought, dialogue, and collaboration among young minds dedicated to making a difference.
As we reflect on this experience, let us reaffirm our commitment to Rotary’s mission. Our club’s history is rich with service, and through actions like Otto Walter’s, we continue to shape a better world. May his dedication serve as an inspiration to us all, and may we carry forward the spirit of service, peace, and fellowship that defines Rotary.
Yours in Rotary,
