RCNY International Breakfast at the UN & Weekly Luncheon Meeting
Report by Andreas Runggatscher

The Rotary Club of New York celebrated back to back meetings both this past Wednesday for our RCNY Breakfast at the UN and a luncheon the following day at the Union League Club. Some venue requirements asked for flexibility. Members and guests enjoyed a most mind elevating presentation by the Latvian Ambassador Jānis Mažeiks who spoke about the Security challenges in the Baltic region and answered many questions about the status of Latvia in the region, its economic qualities and challenges with Russia and in general. Our newest member Laura Cristanelli, who was inducted at the beginning of the meeting introduced the speaker after President Jasmin Cowin opened the meeting and PP, PDG Helen Reisler moderated in interesting fashion as always.

The following day, February 22nd, we enjoyed a speaker Dr. Simeon Hein who was arranged by PP Jan Brown. Dr. Simeon Hein is the director of the non-profit Institute for Resonance in Boulder, Colorado. The Institute is devoted to the study of subtle-energy sciences including remote viewing, crop circles and related subjects.

Another highlight on a rainy NYC day were the two inductions of Lance Dashefsky and Joe Schiltz, the former a project management consultant/auditor and the latter COO of the Boy Scouts NYC.

Welcome in the Rotary Club of New York.
