Food SOSpeso presentation by Anubis Abuddon and Alexander Litvinov at the Harlem Sanctuary Club
on June 19 2025
On the occasion and celebration of Juneteenth 2025 Rotarians and friends met to launch the Food SOSpeso project in Harlem. Arranged by our members Alexander Litvinov, Anubis Abuddon and Preet Singh and the collaboration with other instrumental members on the committee the project was rolled out in front of about 35 attendees both Rotarians, visitors and friends of Rotary. Anubis spoke about is life story and delivered a riveting and heartwarming account of his past and how the Rotary family has embraced him. Alexander then explained the technical aspects of Food SOSpeso and how the system would work
The concept is simple — and powerful:
Through FOOD SOSPESO (“suspended food”), individuals and organizations can pre-pay meals for those who cannot afford them. It’s a direct, personal way to fight hunger in our community — one meal, one person at a time.
We are seeking $25,000 in seed capital to officially launch this project.
Your support will help us:
• Build partnerships with local restaurants and grocery stores,
• Set up an easy-to-use platform for participants and recipients,
• Cover outreach, materials, and logistics to get the project running,
• Immediately begin delivering meals to those who need them most.
Preet Singh tied it all together by explaining the importance of the program, its potential impact. After these valuable presentations, members and guests got to enjoy a dinner buffet provided so generously by restaurants in Harlem.
It was an evening with a particularly good vibe, and we hope that this will translate in many donations to our GoFundMe page for the project: https://gofund.me/f325114c
