Dear Fellow Rotarians,

As we turn the page to a new year, I am filled with hope and optimism for what lies ahead for our Club. It is with deep gratitude and joy that I extend my warmest wishes to you and your loved ones for a year filled with health, happiness, and success.

The start of a new year is always a time for reflection and renewal.  We read and hear the following innumerable times, through our conversations, our correspondences, even our magazine, surely as they are important messages and our guiding light. As we have been blessed with a membership taking our mission of growth to heart, we have many new members that must be supported and mentored and so for their sake, I will offer what we sometimes take for granted.

As Rotarians, we are guided by our motto, "Service Above Self," and the timeless principles of the Four-Way Test:

- Is it the truth?

- Is it fair to all concerned?

- Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Not wanting to proselytize but remind us that these values are our bedrock, we should be mindful of the profound impact we can have—not only in the lives of those we serve but also in the connections we foster within our own Rotary family.

This year, let us commit to embracing the joy and laughter that come from fellowship, the warmth of shared memories, and the excitement of working together on meaningful projects. Our Club’s rich history, built on the dedication of extraordinary members like Otto Walter, inspires us to reach even greater heights. As many of you know, Rotary International will inaugurate its newest peace center in Istanbul this February, honoring Otto and his wife’s legacy of service and commitment to peace. It is a testament to the lasting contributions of our Club and a reminder of what we can achieve together when we come together.

As we look ahead, my greatest hope is to see us reunite often—to strengthen our bonds, deepen our friendships, and increase our participation. Whether through our regular meetings, service initiatives, (of which there will be more in 2025, I promise) or special events, let us be present for one another. After all, Rotary is not just about service; it is about being there for each other when it truly counts.

Let’s make this year one of growth, fun, and impact. Together, we will continue to honor our history while forging a brighter future. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our shared mission and for being the heart of this remarkable Club.

Wishing you a joyful start to the New Year, and I look forward to seeing each of you often in the months ahead.

Fondest regards,

Shawn Jacobaccio
